Joseph Osborn joined the U.S. Army in 1996 and served four years as an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division. Once his tour in North Carolina was complete, he moved back to Ohio and continued his service with the Ohio Army National Guard. Joseph spent seven years as a traditional Guard member, followed by sixteen years as an Active Guard Reserve member with construction engineer and infantry units. He recently retired from the Ohio Army National Guard with a total of twenty-seven years of service. Joseph was the Honor Graduate for his U.S. Army Interior Electrician class and recently completed his studies towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management. He was also the first enlisted Ohio Army National Guard soldier to complete the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (process improvement) training program. He spent a decade as the Operations NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) for a vertical construction engineer unit and consistently recommended the Helmets to Hardhats program to his soldiers. When offered the opportunity to work for H2H, he did not hesitate to accept the position in the hope he can have a positive impact on service member welfare at an even greater scale.
